Jeff Fox
Coordinator - Churches
Growing up in Buffalo, NY, Jeff became an avid hockey and Sabres fan. He was such a hockey fanatic that he played ice hockey in the winter and street hockey in the summer. At age 11 Jeff moved to Monroe, NC, built street hockey goals and tried to get the neighborhood boys to play hockey, but quickly and painfully discovered that he was now living in the South where hockey was not played. Jeff’s sports interests turned to football, track, and baseball, which soon became his favorite sport (Go Red Sox!). During Jeff’s senior year in high school, he became friends with a local Youth Minister who shared the gospel with him. Responding to the gospel changed the direction of Jeff’s life. Within a couple of years, he began preparing for ministry at Columbia International University in Columbia, S.C. Jeff has served in local churches from South Carolina to Connecticut for over 25 years. Most recently he served at First Baptist Church in Matthews, NC. While there, he initiated and developed a sports ministry called Cross Point Sports. CSO Sports was instrumental in assisting in the process of developing that ministry. As Jeff became involved in sports ministry, he developed an appreciation for sports outreach and the potential it has for impact on a local church. Over the years Jeff has enjoyed the opportunity to coach his daughter, Grace, in soccer and his son, Joel, in baseball. He now lives with his wife of 29 years, Kim, and children in Mint Hill, NC (Charlotte). Jeff enjoys assisting local churches to realize the potential of sports outreach and empower them to implement and maintain a Sports Ministry which glorifies God.
